A tasty ragu

This is the new production of the Lisbon Players Theatre Company: Saturday Sunday Monday, by Eduardo de Filippo, directed by Luciano Nobre.

Set in Napoli in 1958, Dona Rosa, the family matriarch is making her famous ragu for Sunday Lunch.
But not all is well in the the house....

A tasty play, it seems...

Starting on the 3rd of March will run for two weeks from tuesday till sunday at 9pm. Sundays at 5pm.

SOS Lisbon Players

Nos próximos dias 24 e 25 de Outubro, a companhia inglesa de teatro Lisbon Players vai realizar duas noites de entertenimento para angariação de fundos, de forma a assegurar a sua continuidade.

THE SHOW MUST GO ON!

As most of you now know the Lisbon Players, which has been in its present building since 1947, is going through uncertain times as the future of Estrela Hall is threatened. We are vigorously fighting plans that may mean the loss of our theatre after more than 60 years of continuous activity. This legal fight is costing us money.

There will be two FUND-RAISING PARTIES on Friday and Saturday, 24th and 25th October to which an open invitation is extended to all our friends and supporters. There will be things for sale, food and drink and, of course, some great entertainment!

Although the evening is free, to make sure of a seat for the show we ask you to make a telephone reservation at the Box Office - 21 396 1946. The doors will open at 8pm/20h and the show will start at 9.30pm/21.30h.

Come along with a full heart and full purse to help ensure the future of Lisbon’s English language theatre!

OCTOBER PARTY

The Lisbon Players is planning a fund-raising party with entertainment for two evenings in October combined with an open day to show those interested something of the theatre, its functioning and its history. Durante este fim de semana, nos Lisbon Players, serão apresentadas as short plays: "Tone Clusters", de Joyce Carol Oates (encenação de Marie Benichou), "Recklessness", de Eugene O'Neill (encenação de Henrique Macedo) e "The Bear", de Anton Chekhov (encenação de Elizabeth Bochman).

Nos Lisbon Players está a decorrer o festival de one act plays. No próximo fim de semana ainda se poderão ver: "One for the Road", de Harold Pinter (1984), com encenação de Eduardo Ribeiro, "A Time for Farewells", de Damian Trasler (2003), com encenação de John Broughton, e "The Proposal", de Anton Chekhov (1889), com encenação de Pedro Ferreira.
